About The Curious Project

Whether it is to help with understanding of the world around us, enrich the lives of the under-privileged, or to help with participants' mental health and well-being in a social prescribing capacity, we strive to give people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities the opportunity to get in touch with their inner creative.

The Curious Project is a social enterprise operating in Birmingham, UK and the surrounding areas. We offer workshops based around music, song-writing and the wider creative arts to help promote social well-being across different groups in the community. So far we have helped people in Birmingham, Walsall, Coventry, Halesowen and Worcester do just that.

Our programmes use music and the arts as a starting point for improving mental health and well-being. We have a range of programmes, including 'Singing Theory', which teaches music theory in a fun and practical way through singing; and 'Creative Minds', where we explore multiple art forms such as painting, poetry and creative writing as forms of self-expression. For the full list of our programmes, please click here.

We are incredibly proud to have done extensive work with Midland Mencap over the last couple of years. Through this connection, we have been lucky enough to work on a project commissioned by the Arts Council England alongside Heart of England Community Foundation.

Please note: we are currently operating without our own premises and aiming our services at organisations and community groups, rather than individuals. If you are not part of a group and would like to take part in one of our sessions, then please get in touch and we can try and find a group that you can join.

Ensemble Creative was set up by professional musician, Henry Liggins, in 2022.

A perfect fit for your

community centre

We work hard to tailor our programmes to your specific needs as an organisation.

Our process always starts with a free consultation. Here we will discuss who the programme is to be aimed at, potential outcomes (concerts, exhibitions) and logistics. To start this process, please get in touch.

Our Quality Guarantee

All of our sessions are currently delivered by Henry, our founder. He graduated from Cardiff University with a First Class Honours degree in Music in 2021. As such, music is often the starting point our programmes.

Our sessions are based around ABRSM's music theory grading.
